Econometrica Policy Research is a Cyprus-based research organization, specializing in program evaluation and policy analysis research. We use state-of-the-art research & evaluation methods to produce credible evidence on the effectiveness of social policies & programs, offer actionable policy recommendations, and provide technical assistance to improve program effectiveness.

Our team brings decades of experience conducting research and evaluation studies of employment and social policy programs in the United States and internationally. Our work has been funded by U.S. Federal government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Labor, U.S. Small Business Administration, U.S. Department of Education, and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Our researchers have provided research and evaluation services to state government agencies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and private organizations in 26 states across the United States.

We bring subject matter expertise in a wide range of policy areas, including job-search assistance, vocational training & education, unemployment insurance, minimum wage, worker safety and health, entrepreneurship, social security and tax policy, criminal justice, youth programs, and international development policy.

Econometrica Policy Research was founded with one goal in mind: Leverage the evaluation experience and subject matter expertise of our team to help policymakers, government agencies, and program administrators in the EU to achieve their policy objectives.

The Long-Term Effects of Job-Search Assistance:

Experimental Evidence Using Administrative Tax Data

This study uses administrative tax data to estimate the long-term effects of job-search assistance for unemployed workers who collect unemployment benefits. Results show that job-search assistance has substantial long-term effects on the outcomes of participants, their families, and the government that extend beyond short-term effects on individual employment and earnings.
